Before you can call a Chocobo to your aid, you will need to meet certain prerequisites . First of all, you will have to advance in the scenario until you reach the hamlet of Martha's Inn , located in the northeast of the Rosalia .
This is where you will meet Roman , a Chocobo who will offer to lend you one of his birds.
But for this, you will first have to complete the main quest “ The Gathering Storm ”, which will ask you to go to Rosalia Castle to attend a meeting with the king and the other lords.
Once this quest is completed, you can return to Martha's Inn hamlet and talk to Roman again. He will then give you a secondary quest entitled “ An Exceptional Chocobo ”, which will allow you to unlock your first mount.

The secondary quest “ An Exceptional Chocobo ” consists of finding Roman's favorite Chocobo , which has escaped from its enclosure and is nowhere to be found.
