Will the Radeon RX 6900 XT beat the GeForce RXT 3090?

NVIDIA is positioned ahead of AMD in terms of graphics card performance. AMD is not giving up and Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, has more than one bow in her ropes. the new RX 6900 XT also known as Big Navi On October 28, AMD will present its new cards, but in the meantime let's take a closer look at the information we can extract from the image of the RX 6900 XT PCB.

The GPU is not visible but its size can be appreciated in the image. This card will consume less than the RTX 3090 because the phase system is made up of 16 digits (14 + 2) although it will still require a power supply of 2x to 8 pins. We notice that the 2 half-sized heatsinks that protect the VRAMs are not in direct contact with the main GPU heatsink. The fan system will cool everything but this architecture favors better heat dissipation at the GPU level. The solder points suggest that the card would have 8 or 16 GB of memory .

TSMC's 7-nanometer manufacturing processes This is a slight advantage compared to that of its competitor which is standardized at 8 nm by Samsung. It has 5120 shader processors and works on a gaming frequency of 2.04 GHz. In boost frequency, the 23,000 million transistors switch at 2.33 GHz . The Big Navi XT card is equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit memory bus. Its competitor RTX 3090, on the other hand, has 24 GB of GDDR6X memory and its GPU operates at a switching frequency of 1.7 GHz in boost mode . The RX 6900

8K HDR images . In addition, it uses AI to push its capabilities to the extreme (sampling by DLSS, RayTracing, etc.). However, according to the latest rumors, the Big Navi XT greatly exceeds the RTX 3080 in terms of performance and is just behind the RTX 3090. Let's wait until we have this new card on hand to benchmark it. In any case, if this proves correct, AMD cards would have doubled in performance and AMD is catching up with NVIDIA.

As a reminder, the RTX 3090 card is already on sale on the NVIDIA or Amazon website . We imagine that AMD and its sales team will sell the RX 6900 XT at a slightly lower price to attract more customers. See you this October 28, 2020 for detailed information.
