EK Water Blocks presents the Vector water blocks for the RTX 3080

EK Water Blocks has just announced that the EK-Quantum Vector FE RTX 3080 D-RGB water block is available for pre-order. It features a silver and black gaming design. This liquid-air cooling system is specifically designed for Nvidia's RTX 3080 Founders Edition graphics card.

The characteristics of the EK-Quantum Vector waterblock

The EK-Quantum Vector water block features a compact design with a plexiglass-covered slot illuminated by an RGB LED system . This lighting system consists of 20 LEDs controllable with standard RGB lighting management software. The upper section is made of acrylic, while the lower section is constructed from 12mm pure electrolytic copper coated with nickel. The external block is made of 20mm aluminum and includes a standoff system for secure mounting.

It features two 1/4-inch threaded fittings and can be used on either side of the terminal. The cooling system is designed to cool the GPU, memory, and voltage regulator module (VRM). The coolant circulates through these critical components to ensure optimal cooling of the entire system. The EK-Quantum Vector water block is more efficient than previous versions due to its heat dissipation surface area 30% surface area compared to other Vector water blocks.

This water block is distinguished by its ability to function seamlessly with a low-flow hydraulic water pump. Pre-orders for the EK-Quantum Vector water block are now open on the manufacturer's website for €270 . EK Water Blocks will begin deliveries in December 2020.

What are the advantages provided by a waterblock?

Like any air-liquid cooling system, a water block system provides efficient cooling . Unlike an air-cooled system (fan + radiator), water cooling allows for better heat dissipation. This is because water, or any liquid, has a greater capacity for heat absorption than air.

Another advantage is that waterblock systems are quieter than traditional air coolers. This is because they don't require very powerful fans. While most water cooling systems use fans, they don't need to run at high speeds to cool the liquid.

The waterblock system allows for overclocking . Indeed, an air-liquid cooling system allows the CPU or GPU to work faster since they do not overheat.
