Since its official release in November 2017, the Star Wars Battlefront II game has regularly attracted new players.
There are several game systems: campaign, multiplayer and Arcade.
It is the latter which will particularly interest us.
Indeed, in Arcade mode, it is possible to split your screen into 2 . In this configuration, the screen is split into two equal halves. In this way, each player can see the progress of their own character, independently of the other.
If you're in a hurry to play Battlefront 2 on split screen, here's a tutorial video to watch!
If you're a fan of split-screen cooperative games: Here are the best games on CONSOLE!
But, why play split screen on this game? This is what we will see in the rest of our article.
Four Reasons to Play Battlefront II Split Screen
Split screen is a feature not often found in video games today.
You can decide to switch to split screen to test this new feature. Indeed, we quickly get tired of routine. So why not try something else?
Another reason to split your screen into 2 may be that it is better to play on an ultra-wide gaming monitor . If you have an ultrawide screen, the effect of the animations can be striking! We don't always see small details on a "normal" screen. But, with a large enough screen, each player has the impression of being immersed in their own universe.
Additionally, if you have a curved screen , for example, this replicates the panoramic effect of cinema screens. The player has the feeling of being part of the game. With this configuration, emotions are guaranteed!
If you add 4K to all these options , a resolution of around 8 million pixels gives more quality to the images. 4K, or Ultra HD, is in fact the equivalent of HD multiplied by 4.
But how to set up this split screen? Typically, new players spend a lot of time finding this option and end up getting discouraged. We will see together, step by step, how to proceed.
How to split your screen?
To implement split screen in Battlefront II, you must play on a Playstation or Xbox console.
- Step 1: Go to the “Play” tab
- Step 2: Choose “Single Player”
- Step 3: Click “Arcade”
- Step 4: You can choose between “Co-op” and “Counter”. In “Counter” mode, you will be able to customize a large number of elements, including available troops and team sizes.
In “Co-op” mode, you will play as a team with the second player and not against him. We choose the “Co-op” mode.
- Step 5: Click “Custom Arcade”. You can personalize the items.
- Step 6: Then, click on “Play as > Free for all”.
A screen appears:
“CUSTOM ARCADE” Are you sure you want to play Arcade Mode with these settings?
- Step 7: Click [OK] After validation, another message appears:
Please connect another controller for the second player and press “PLAY” to continue.
- Step 8: After validation, the previous message reappears:
“CUSTOM ARCADE” Are you sure you want to play Arcade Mode with these settings?
- Step 9: Choose your character, then click “START”.
- Step 10: You will now see the Battlefront 2 game in split-screen mode. The first player appears in the first half of the screen, at the top.
The second player appears in the second half of the screen, at the bottom.
To connect the second player's controller, simply press the PS button on the second controller, then press X in-game to connect.
Please note, with split screen, you will be able to play locally only . You will not be able to go online. To be seen, if later, this feature will be added to the game. Another advantage of playing locally (offline) is being able to gain experience by playing in the game against robots. Since there are new players regularly, you will be more experienced when you come back online.
Bonus: a Tip to know to take full advantage of this feature
To play Battlefront II with a split screen, you will need to use wired controllers. Wireless controllers do not work in split screen.
