It's official! Google has just unveiled its new mid-range smartphone: the Pixel 5a ! It will be available starting August 26th for $449 . Want to learn more about this year's flagship smartphone? Let's go!
What does Google's new mid-range smartphone look like?

The Pixel 5a retains the core strengths of the Pixel 5 while establishing itself as a worthy successor to the Pixel 4a . It will initially run on Android 11 , with a possible upgrade to Android 12. You might then wonder: what's new if it's still Android 11?
The Pixel 5a features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip and is slightly larger than the Pixel 5 , thanks to its 6.34-inch OLED . As for storage capacity, it retains the 128GB of ROM.
A small change is worth noting regarding the RAM. The phone now boasts 6GB of RAM , which is to be expected given its attractive price ! And like the Pixel 5, Google's new smartphone features a dual rear camera setup, combining a 12.2-megapixel main sensor with a 16-megapixel secondary sensor.
Furthermore, the Pixel 5a has an IP67 certification ! This allows the smartphone to withstand the effects of immersion up to one meter deep and offers it total protection against dust.
Google Pixel 5a: the smartphone with the best price/performance ratio in 2021?

As you might have guessed, the Pixel 5a has similar features to the Pixel 5. The only differences seem minor, despite the price difference . The Pixel 5a has a 60Hz screen, while the Pixel 5 has a 90Hz screen .
Another important point to note is the glass protecting the smartphone. The Pixel 5 is protected by Gorilla Glass 6, while Google's new smartphone features Gorilla Glass 3.
Furthermore, the company's new mid-range smartphone promises more appealing performance than its predecessor, particularly in terms of battery life. Indeed, Google claims that by activating Ultra Battery Saver mode, the smartphone can last up to 48 hours on a single charge. It's worth noting that the Pixel 5 typically lasts for 16 hours with normal use.
To our great disappointment, the Pixel 5a will not be available in France, as its launch was limited to the American and Japanese markets. Google has not yet provided any official information regarding this situation
However, we believe the upcoming release of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro explains why the phone isn't available in Europe. So, patience is key!
