It's now official! After several months of waiting, Apple has just launched the new successor to the iPhone 12 . This is indeed the iPhone 13 which, at first glance, looks a lot like its predecessor. From September 24, the Cupertino company will add its new mobile phone to its catalog: the iPhone 13.
The old version, that is to say the iPhone 12, will be officially marketed from €809 . As for its successor, it will be on sale from €909 .

Design, screen, colors: what’s new?
In terms of design, the iPhone 12 and its successor are very similar. Indeed, Apple has not made a very big aesthetic change on its new mobile phone compared to the old version. Only two important things should be noted:
- First, we see that on the iPhone 13, the notch at the top of the screen has been greatly reduced
- Then, the photo sensors are arranged diagonally on the iPhone 13 while they were aligned one below the other on the iPhone 12
On the other hand, the size of the screen does not change a bit (6.1 inches), which does not make it possible to quickly distinguish the iPhone 12 from the iPhone 13.

We also notice that the iPhone 13 is heavier and thicker than the iPhone 12 . As for weight, it's 9 grams more and for thickness, it's 7.65 versus 7.4 mm.
Another big difference that we could note concerns the colors of the two models. The iPhone 13, for example, comes in various colors: black, white, red, blue or even pink. The iPhone 12, for its part, exists in black, white, purple, green and red . So you just have to choose what you like, taking into account your preferences.
The photo camera of the iPhone 12 and that of the iPhone 13
When we look more closely at the two phones, we clearly see that it is at the front of the photo that the iPhone 13 differs from the iPhone 12. The two ultra-wide-angle and wide-angle sensors are equipped with 12 megapixels each, but their construction, compared to that of the iPhone 12, has been improved.
Indeed, the iPhone 13, like the 13 mini model, benefits from mechanical stabilization on its angle sensor. Remember that this was not the case for the different models of the iPhone 12.
The advantage of this stabilization remains the fact that the new Apple iPhone will be able to reduce the blur present in certain photos. In addition, the iPhone 13 will be able to take optimal quality night photos, thanks to a relatively longer pause time.
Also, a host of other features have been added to the iPhone 13 regarding renderings after a capture. One thing is certain, the image quality of the iPhone 13 is much better than that of the iPhone 12 !
Is the iPhone 13 more efficient than the iPhone 12?
In recent years, we have noticed that every time Apple launches a new iPhone, it always comes with a new processor. The sequence therefore continues since the A14 Bionic chip present in the iPhone 12 is replaced by a new A15 Bionic chip .
Technically, the A14 Bionic and A15 Bionic chips have quite similar characteristics. They have two integrated cores, which are reserved for the performance of the phone and four cores providing high energy efficiency. In addition to this, the two chips are engraved in 5 nanometers.
However, the A15 Bionic chip has been improved, as well as its part dedicated to graphics performance. Apple did not want to give more details on the other aspects which distinguish the new chip embedded in the iPhone 13.
What about the storage and battery life of Apple's two mobile phones?
When it comes to memory, the first thing to consider remains the fact that the minimum storage space on the iPhone 13 is twice as large as on the iPhone 12. The new smartphone from the Cupertino company offers minus 128 GB of storage space. This is in fact its minimum capacity.
Apple has therefore abandoned its 64 GB storage option that the older version had, i.e. the iPhone 12. The standard and mini models of the iPhone 13 are available with 128 GB storage options , 256 GB and 512 GB. The Pro and Pro Max, for their part, go up to 1 TB of storage.
Furthermore, the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini have larger batteries than previous generation phones.
- Compared to the iPhone 12 Mini, the battery life of the iPhone 13 Mini has been extended by 1 hour 30 minutes.
- On top of that, the iPhone 13 promises to last 2 hours 30 minutes longer than the iPhone 12.
These improvements are therefore necessary and important, especially when we think about the autonomy of the iPhone 12 mini which was very light.
iPhone 12 or iPhone 13: make your choice!
In many ways, Apple's new phones are similar to phones released in 2020. Indeed, Apple has only improved key areas like photo performance and battery life. This improvement therefore allows the iPhone 13 to stand out from its predecessor.
You understood, the iPhone 13 only represents a discreet evolution of the iPhone 12! If you are happy with your current smartphone i.e. iPhone 12, you don't need to set your sights on the latest version.
