Makalu 67, the new gaming mouse from Mountain

Mountain is a young company based in Germany. Its main activities consist of producing gaming peripherals ideal for competitions, such as the Mountain Everest keyboard. Makalu 67 is a gaming mouse distributed by Mountain. It's a high-performance, customizable mouse. The mouse is both lightweight and durable. Its design is quite unique, featuring various slots and numerous customization options. It is patented by the German company.

What differentiates the Makalu 67 mouse?

The Makalu 67 mouse has been thoughtfully designed by Mountain to meet the real needs of gamers. After just a few minutes of use, you'll feel completely at one with the mouse. It's incredibly lightweight, weighing only 67g . The wired connection is made of a flexible material, allowing for effortless handling, much like a wireless mouse.

The mouse features a PixArt PAW3370 sensor, allowing it to reach a sensitivity level of 19,000 DPI . It uses Omron 50m switches, renowned for their durability and robustness. There's no need to press the buttons hard; a light touch is all it takes to activate them and the scroll wheel. Furthermore, the sensitivity can be adjusted via a central button on the mouse. Five sensitivity levels are available: 400, 800, 1200, 2000, and 19,000 DPI. The PTFE glide plate ensures smooth movement on any type of surface.

Advanced mouse features with Base Camp

The mouse can function directly without an additional driver. However, installing software like BaseCamp unlocks more features. This software offers more options compared to other mouse and keyboard management software such as Angle Snapping or Logitech G Hub. While BaseCamp doesn't display real-time user telemetry data, it has more features than other software.

From Base Camp, you can customize the RGB lighting. There are preset settings you can use directly, such as Color Wave, Breathing, and Static. But you can also create your own settings according to your preferences. You'll have a choice of 16.7 million colors . This software also allows you to assign the 6 buttons to specific functions: opening a browser, manipulating macros, opening specific software, combining keyboard shortcuts, etc.

In Base Camp, you can access advanced settings in the "Settings" tab. There, you can adjust the sensitivity level and cursor scroll speed. Double-click speed can also be customized. You can also use a useful mouse feature called Angle Snapping.

This feature allows you to create perfect geometric figures (straight lines, circles, etc.). The mouse can either transmit all hand movements with high sensitivity or ignore small variations to draw perfectly geometric objects. Other settings can also be adjusted, such as button press latency, polling rate, lift-off distance, and many more.
