One of the constraints on the Google Stadia was the fact of only being able to use Stadia controllers on TV via Chromecast Ultra. Google has just activated Tandem mode for Stadia users. Tandem mode functionality
This mode allows Google Stadia users to use third-party controllers to play titles from their cloud library. Tandem Mode is available to all Google Stadia users. This feature allows us to connect a secondary controller to control the cloud platform interface and access the games in its library. The new pad will need to be connected to the Stadia Wireless Controller using a USB-C cable or USB-A USB-C adapter.
